MICROSOFT LOGIN PASSWORD RE-AUTHENTICATION

Modified on Fri, 11 Mar 2022 at 11:35 AM

(this process will enable password changes from outside the district)

When you sign in to one of your Microsoft services, you may be prompted to “Finish setup”.

This simple process is for password re-authentication.

You will be asked to provide some additional information to verify your account.

You will next see a MFA sign-in request (authentication code is sent to your phone or authenticator app).

If you originally set up the Microsoft two-factor authentication to send a code to your phone, you should see this screen.  Select how you want to receive the code.

Enter the code you receive on the next screen and click VERIFY.

** If you are using the Microsoft two-factor authentication app, you will be prompted to open the app and authenticate the request.

Once you have authenticated, you will be asked to set up a recovery email account where you can be emailed should you be locked out of your LHUSD account.  This should be your personal email address.

Click the SET IT UP NOW link to the right of “Authentication email is not configured”.

Enter your personal email address. Click the EMAIL ME button.

You will need to check your personal email account for a new message with your verification code.

Enter the six-digit number into the verification code field and click the VERIFY button.

On the next window, click FINISH.

When you complete these steps you will be signed in and ready to go.

Should you need it, you can go to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/ to reset the password.  Once reset, the password will sync back so you can immediately sign into services with no more waiting.

You will also likely see your picture choice on your lock screen.  This was done as part of the re-authentication process.

IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE WITH ANY OF THESE STEPS, PLEASE SUBMIT A TICKET.
